Our goal is to produce the most creative, highest-quality work, within the framework of your budget.

Studio– Our studio is a comfortable creative environment in the heart of Brooklyn New York, close to bridges and, conveniently, a few blocks from the A and G subway lines as well as the Atlantic terminal. Our studio configuration allows us to work on multiple projects simultaneously and offer all audio and color grading services needed for any project that comes through our door in a professional manner.

Services include– Audio post, sound editing, sound design and mixing, foley recording and editing, ADR/ Automatic Dialogue Replacement, sound effects editing, dialogue editing and calibrated DaVinci color grading services. BSI has a massive archive of boutique sound effects, as well as it’s own signature SFX, which are recorded specifically for each project and indexed for future use. Our goal is to find a common language with each filmmaker to reach their vision for each film while bringing our years of experience and creative solutions to the mix. Every footstep, movement, breath, ambience, and tonal balance is carefully considered as we shape your soundtrack to tell your story.

Brooklyn Sound & Image is run by Neil Benezra. As a sound designer, rerecording mixer and composer for film, museum, gallery, and theater, he has collaborated with acclaimed artists and directors, including Abel Ferrara, James Franco, Richard Foreman, Dara Birnbaum, Laurie Simmons, Joan Jonas, Louise Bourgeois, On Kawara, Josiah McElheny, Moyra Davey, and Jack Pierson. As a musician, he has worked with Joey Ramone, sound artist Stephen Vitiello, and longtime Swans guitarist Norman Westberg, among many others. Brooklyn Sound & Image’s award-winning audio post and color film work has been internationally released in theaters and film festivals worldwide, including in Venice, Cannes, Tribeca, Sundance, SXSW, Berlin, and Toronto. BSI broadcast work includes over 300 internationally televised episodes. BSI film and broadcast work has been distributed and or screened by such networks as Showtime, IFP, PBS, Discovery, MTV, NBC, Disney, and TLC. Museum and gallery work includes working closely with artists, composing and designing immersive sound to accompany site-specific installations and film and video soundtrack scores, as well as designing and coordinating sound systems. In his composition work, Benezra utilizes rhythmic and melodic patterns in the urban world. He surveys the role of sound in the interplay of people and the spaces they inhabit and attempts to incorporate those dynamics in his work. He attempts to trigger the listener to reevaluate their environment and their preconceived notions of it and is interested in questioning traditional notions and structures of organized sound and music. His personal sound installation work has been shown in solo and group shows in Austria.
